hey dude, are that guy's shoes see through?!

IM SO HAPPY THAT MY CONVERSE ARRIVED IN TIME FOR MY BIRTHDAY!

Ive already worn them like a gazillion times! They are ridiculously comfy! Comfiest pair of shoes I own I think? Apart from my Eskimo boots haha, they're cute AND comfy, so nothing quite beats them!

Before stumbling on these shoes I had talked about wanting a pair of translucent jelly gladiator-sandals or wellies like the vivienne westwood pair pictured below. I thought they would be most certainly different to most other peoples footwear and that's what I mainly try to do with my dress sense when it comes to buying clothes - if I know somebody who I may see on a regular basis (I.e. Around college) owns a certain item of recognisable clothing then 9 times out of 10 I won't actually purchase it! One of my ultimate "pet-hates" is actually people, boys mainly, who literally wear what you would see a mannequin dressed in at a local Topman store for example. It's so annoying, I tend to think to myself - if they can't dress themselves without copying a mannequin then they clearly have no style in the first place and it's just so ridiculously obvious that they do it! Which makes it even more annoying in my eyes!
I have said before now that I wear my clothes, they don't wear me - basically the type of person I have just been talking about, the one who copies the mannequin - the clothes wear them, whereas I like to think to myself and my friends have also agreed with me before now that I personally wear my clothes - sorry to come across as arrogant, but I completely agree!

I was brought up as a stylish child by my mother, I am still stylish and I have style - therefore unlike some people I am able to dress myself in my OWN partially unique style as opposed to lazily and quite simply copying a mannequin in the local Topman store!

Anyhow, my rant is over haha.
Back to the point of this post:

Lately I have been seriously in need of a pair of shoes that I could match with anything and so what could be a better solution other than buying a transparent pair of shoes! Haha, at the end of this post you will find a few photos of my new shoes and ideas of ways they could be worn!

I plan on wearing them mostly with wooly socks or nice, big, thick Winter socks! God, Winter is my favourite season for clothing! Beats Summer, HANDS DOWN!
The best part in purchasing this pair of shoes was in fact the price! These beauties cost me the tiny price of just £24.99! Amazing!

Anyhow, this was meant to be a short, quick post really! So I shall leave you now with those photos of my new shoes and my style ideas...

Ciao!

cupcakes, cocktails and curly fries!

It was my 18th birthday yesterday! So first of all, happy birthday to me! Haha, now on with the post!

To celebrate my birthday I am actually having a big "do" at a local nightclub next Saturday, although I'll tell you more about that in another post!

So yesterday my Mother threw me an uber cute cupcake party at a local bar, my auntie baked 56 cupcakes - very, very tasty cupcakes might I add - in an array of flavours ranging from buttercream to nutella to baileys! Alcoholic cupcakes! How funny!
And on top of this my Mom bought me a life-sized cupcake! It was exquisite to look at! Here are a few snaps of the cupcakes and the larger life-sized one for you all to drool over! Haha...

How tasty do they all look?

Anyhow, a few of my Moms sisters and my closest group of say 15 friends all came along to join the celebrations, my Mom bought us all platters of this bars infamous Curly fries - famous for being so guiltily tasty! We all had a giggle along and a few drinks and overall I had such a nice time being with all my friends eating sickly-sweet cupcakes and sipping on some cocktails! Most of my friends and my aunties all gave me money to put toward my trip to London next week with two of my best friends, Isabella and Amelia, in another post I will tell you more about this trip! Anyway, how amazing is this....overall I received £285!!! So that was a lovely little bonus haha!

Before I carry on here is a photo of all the cards that I thought I should include as they were all so cute and half of them were hilarious as my friends thought it would be funny to buy me princess cards, haha!

But even better, this card below has to be the most perfect one I received from my auntie who baked me all the beautiful cupcakes! It fit the idea of my party entirely, hopefully you'll be able to see why....

And now you will see some of my favourite photos from the cupcake night;

Above is a slightly unattractive photo of myself and my life-sized cupcake! Accompanied by a few cheeky 18th balloons!

Amelia (hiding behind the napkin) and Isabella, both being absolute muppets hahaha!

Again, myself and Amelia! Cute photo :) she makes me look tall, KUDOS!

I normally hate photos of myself where I am smiling haha but I actually really like this one and I think Molly and I look uber cute!

And finally, Myself and Isabella looking evil due to the glare from the flash on my phone! Still love this photo though :)

Anyhow I am still ridiculously tired from Thursday's antics and such, so I shall leave you at this point and say goodnight;

Goodnight aha!

Birthday is nearly over!

I am writing this post to you using literally every last bit of energy I have left haha!
After only having approx 4 hours sleep my day went as follows....

8am - Woken up by my phone recieving many loud texts and notifications wishing me a happy birthday! Wasn't amused! Tried going back to sleep as I'd only had around 4 hours sleep which you'll already know if you have read my previous blog post!

10am - Finally decided to give up trying to get back to sleep and finally got up and started dancing around my room to my birthday tunes! Haha, also got ready for college! (college on my birthday, I know - that sucks)

11.10am - Was picked up by a friend and chauffeured to college hahaha! In a bright yellow car ha!

12.45pm - lessons started, along with the arrival of my suicidal thoughts due to severe boredom in lessons!

4pm - lessons over! And all feelings to jump out the classroom window or murder my teachers had suppressed by now...

4.30pm - my birthday meal with all my closest girls! It was so so lovely! I'll be doing a post filled with the details and plenty of photos, this will be up on Sunday! It was awesome though!

7.30pm - gathering finished :(

8pm - went to visit my very heavily pregnant cousin who is currently carrying around a little, (well the bump is actually rather large), baby girl - Daisy! She was meant to be born on the 1st of September; which means she is currently 9 days late, tut tut!

9pm - went round to my aunties to plan tomorrow's shoot as I am borrowing her dog haha! It's going to be fun! Also, me myself being the absolute heffa that I am - I got myself a chinese takeaway! I told the lady who works there that it was my birthday so she gave me a free bag of spring rolls, major yum! How kind also?!

11pm - wolfed down my Chinese and tidied my room a little, replied to about 40 birthday texts that I have been putting off all day haha! Then had a shower, got into bed and...

Now - hi :).

So from today's extremely busy schedule you can probably guess just how busy I have been! But just incase you didn't realise or pick up on this.....I HAVE HAD AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING BIRTHDAY!!!!

And I just thought I'd share a little breakdown of the days events with you guys :)

Anyway I have a big shoot tomorrow with Isabella and it starts at 8am so I need all the sleep I can get!

Au revoir, from your now-legal blogger - Jacob Alexander!

xo

8am

BIRTHDAY!

It's the morning of my 18th birthday!!! Can't believe I'm finally all grown up ha! Not to brag or anything but this birthday has been pretty reem already and it's only 9am! I am currently sat in bed nursing an absolutely massive hangover as I went out last night with Lisa and the girls to celebrate our birthday hah! As you can see from the photo below I was clearly loving life just swigging down the vodka, ew!! Never ever done that before and don't know why I did hahaha!

And I must have also made Lisa do the same?

Looks like I can handle my spirits a little better though! (I literally just shuddered writing that hahahaha)

Me and Lisa got a cute picture, my favourite from the night actually, we took it using this cool app called "Instagram" - don't know if any of you have heard of it? Follow me! jacobalexander_

Anyway here's the pic,

Cute!

At around midnight, just by sheer chance, my best friends all drove past me in town so they all waited till the clock struck midnight and all sang happy birthday haha HOW CUTE! loved it, love them!
My moms actually taking us all for drinks, cupcakes, curly fries and more cake tonight at the cube after college! She's so cute! I'll probably post a few cute pictures later so be prepared! I'm so excited for my actual big birthday party next saturday though! It's going to be reem!

Anyway, just to prove that I am actually sat here feeling worse for wear I'll bid you a goodbye for now accompanied by a lovely snap of me just chilling being a sleepy, non-morning person, hungover, shiny mess!

LEGAL C-GAL!

beauty night

I currently work at the retail store, Debenhams, I am based in the womenswear section of the store and I really enjoy it plus the money is great! Although because my future career aspirations lie within the boundaries of fashion photography and styling for my shoots, I would be much more useful or interested in working on a makeup counter in the cosmetic department!
And so recently I have been trying to hunt down a job within that department haha, so far - half successful...I have sorta applied to a cosmetics counter but nothings going to happen yet due to the lack of vacancies although a little birdy has told me that there may be very soon! So I tried to get in there early aha.

Due to my interest and passion for this area of work I was asked by the cosmetics manager if I would work for them on their upcoming, acclaimed very popular "Beauty Night". So I was obviously over the moon knowing that they had acknowledged my interest in working with them in cosmetics and therefore I practically threw myself at the woman in acceptance of her offer haha!

I just thought I would explain how I came about working at this event before bombarding you with a post about how the night went and you not having a clue what I'm talking about!

Beauty night was actually last night and I decided to take one of my best friends along with me who just so happens to be the model in most of my photography projects haha! I personally think she's very striking and beautiful so she was my most obvious candidate to perform make up demonstrations on for the guests of the beauty night! Also she was able to help me at some points too which was great :)

I was based on the cosmetic brand called "Natio" - which is apparently the Australian, all natural make up rival to Clinique! Before tonight I actually thought their products looked, well...cheap and nasty!
Although after completing a number of makeovers using their products I can assure you that I myself and my model, Isabella, were both genuinely surprised! Their products were actually great! The foundation especially! Isabella liked the Waterproof volume mascara, it worked well on her lashes and was quite subtle which fits the look she tends to go for usually so that was a lucky find!

It was only a 2 hour event, however, in this time I managed to do several makeovers - 6 if I remember correctly - and I managed to earn the company overall a total of £96 which is great considering a lot of their products were at a lower price, (25% off!), due to the event being held! So I could have made around an extra quarter more of that price if the prices weren't specially discounted! Also you have to take into mind that it was my first time working on a cosmetics counter! Considering I'm usually quite a confident person, I was actually surprisingly scared haha! But I made it through the event in one piece, phew!

I was confronted by the manager of cosmetics today in work and at first when I spotted her approaching me I was a little scared that I may have done something wrong last night although she had not a single negative thing to say to me! She actually came looking for me to personally thank me and congratulate me for doing so well especially taking into thought that it was my first time with this sort of thing! So that was great to hear and now I know when it comes to possibly moving into the cosmetics section of Debenhams I have a good, noted, congratulated and redeemable reference from the manager herself! Very reassuring now she knows my talents with makeup! In the next few weeks once I've settled down with this years college work I think I will try to aim in Pershing a career on one of the makeup counters! Wish me luck!

Anyway, I shall leave you with a cheeky snap of Isabella and myself after the event before we devoured our takeaway! Haha, goodbye for now!

iPhone

Yayy! My iPhone 4 finally arrived! I got the White version in 32GB so there's tonnes of room for everything haha!

I'm actually currently posting this from my iPhone whilst on the bus to work :) using this cool app called, "blogpress", for all you bloggers out there who were wondering about the best way to post from your iPhone - I have tried many apps but this is by far the best! Get downloading!

Also, you'll never guess what else arrived?....MY CLEAR (asinine visibly see-through) CONVERSE!!! Haha, I love them!
I'll be posting about those either later tonight or tomorrow!

Last night I was asked to work in the cosmetics department as it was "Beauty Night" so I'll also be doing a short post about that too :).

See you later!

i guess you could call it a freehand biography?

Just for those of you who don't know me personally, I thought I would write this post to you and tell you a little about me - the title of this post is self explanatory really; this post will be auto-biographical, but by freehand I mean this has been in no-way shape or form thought of or written beforehand. What I mean by that is, I am just going to fill this with whatever first comes to mind about myself

I'm Jacob-Alexander, as you will have hopefully already presumed so from the title of this blog, I'm 17 years old currently although it is infact my birthday next Friday on the 9th of September - very excited, I shall tell you more about my plans in another post soon. I have dark brown hair, well I did have naturally until I decided to dye it all different shades and I am now currently sat here with silver hair - which again I will talk to you about in another post - I have dark brown eyes, and I am naturally olive skinned due to my mothers family being Spanish and my fathers family being Italian; this is my favourite fact about myself haha! I am studying at college and at this current moment in time I should really be in bed asleep as today was the last day of our summer holiday term and I start back at college tomorrow, unlike others I'm actually looking forward to lessons again! Speaking of lessons and college, I am currently studying for my A Levels; Photography, English Language, and Graphic Design. I was also studying English Literature last year although I didn't really enjoy it so in my second year I have chosen not to continue studying it at a higher level. My favourite study would have to be Photography, near enough my whole life revolves around it. I'm always taking photos of everything haha, in time you'll soon find me posting some of my work on here and asking for your opinions! Within photography I tend to base all of my projects around Fashion as it is what I wish to carry on with and study at University, (hopefully at London College Of Fashion). In my free time I tend to see my friends a lot as we usually go for meals, shopping trips and casual trips to the cinema, amongst many other things. I personally like to keep fit and healthy, I do a lot of running and cycling but I really need to join the gym - I think once I pass my driving test I'll probably join the local gym and try to keep in good shape! If I had to choose, my favourite colour would probably be Black or different shades of Brown - although I like all different shades of colours, EXCEPT orange. I have a passionate hatred for the colour! I don't know why myself but I have never, ever liked the colour orange and most probably never will. Strange I know?

My favourite names in the Fashion industry in no particular order are as follows; Alexander McQueen (okay maybe it is in a little order) - I love his skull designs and I own a few items from his collection and plan on purchasing a new skull-ring whilst on my next trip to London. Nicola Formichetti - the creative director of the haus of Mugler - I absolutely love his work and ideas, and ofcourse I admire his muse - Rick Genest, a.k.a Zombie Boy. I deeply admire Formichetti for his choice of using Genest in the latest collections for Mugler and yet again I will be creating another post to explain why I love his idea so much. Fashion photographer Mario Testino and his photos of Kate Moss are sensational and exquisite to look at - check them out if you haven't already! Also Tim Walker and his work, breathtaking. I love his style of photography, it could be classed as hypo-constructed scene - basically constructed scene photography but to the extreme in some cases, by extreme for example I'm talking about bringing extremely large skeletal displays into a field and setting off multcoloured smoke bombs and having his subjects extravagantly dressed posing in this wild scenery - simply amazing, hopefully one day soon I too will be able to mimic this extreme constructed scene sort of photography! My favourite models would have to be, in no particular order again; Isabeli Fontana (1) - her face and hair and just everything are nothing other than beautiful, River Viiperi (2) - absolutely gorgeous Coitus boy, Andrej Pejic (3 & 4) - yes he is used as both a male and female, earning double the wage of an average model and booking twice the amount of shows, him and Rick Genest (5) have by far been this years biggest living-extraordinaire to hit the runway. Daul Kim, R.I.P, (6) the tragically beautiful south korean model who committed suicide in her Parisian apartment in November 2009. Images of her are still used now in some fashion ads! Naomi Campbell (7) a beautiful, world-renowned ethnic model. Leebo Freeman (8), I admit I do personally have a crush on this guy - his facial bone-structure is admirable and his eyes are too intense to not be found attractive! And finally, Jesse Burgess (9) - most of you will recognise him from the recent hit tv show, Dirty Sexy Things, shown on E4 for 8 weeks. I love his hair and I found him really quite funny on DST and after viewing his portfolio on Storm Model's website I thought some of the work he has done was quite interesting!

On with the list and more randomly so, my favourite material - chiffon/mesh. I love chiffon and I recently bought a Unisex chiffon shirt from American Apparel - pictured below - and I cannot wait to wear it for two very special upcoming events, it has literally been sitting in my wardrobe for two whole months - it's been so hard to resist the urge of wearing it! My favourite food? Hmm, Italian always. At home we tend to eat a lot of italian dishes, PennĂ© Pollo being my favourite - penne pasta cooked in basil oil and mixed with tomato and basil sauce and chicken thrown in there too - a lovely dish! I may actually blog about some meals I make myself on here, as I said this blog is about fashion and my life - and food is quite a big part of my life, haha! Favourite sweet? All my friends should be able to answer this - Marshmallows and Jelly Babies. Ultimate classic. I could eat bags and bags of flumps and marshmallows, yum!

Anyhow, I really have posted enough about myself for now - stick around for the rest and keep reading as you will find out more and more about me with each post. It is now 1am and I shall only be getting 6 hours sleep before college starts, cool bro!

Oh and 9 is my favourite number, you'll start to notice I do things in nines.

Au Revoir!

time to start a fresh.

 Hey guys!

Like the new layout? I've just finished completing all the coding and designing for it, and oh boy - I can I tell you it wasn't easy haha!

I originally created this blog a few months ago to become a place where I could frequently blog about the latest fashions or trends that I have come across, but at the time I never had enough spare time on my hands to focus on this properly so I put it aside knowing that once I felt it was the right time I would return and start fresh and that's why I'm writing to you now. Whilst I will be posting about fashion and trends, I have also decided to use this blog to post about the exciting things that happen in my life too (believe it or not although I am sat here at 2am in the morning with nothing better to do, my life does have some exciting moments every once in a while).

So just like the (newly designed) header above, prepare yourselves to read my ramblings, occasional moodswings and overstated opinions on my life to follow from this point onward...

really don't know?!
